I like how my friend and teacher Peter Szabo defines coaching:
Coaching is a structured conversation designed to help people get from where they are to where they want to be, in life or in their profession, more quickly and more comfortably than they could do on their own.
On a more technical note: I think of Solution-Focused Coaching Protocols as catalysts for change.
They accelerate the naturally occurring search for solutions by using a specific search algorithm.
But this is the subject of a paper I am working on (more on this later).
